Moscow, March 1st, 2013

Horwath HTL Russia and Horwath HTL Hungary, part of Horwath HTL the worlds oldest and largest Hospitality Consulting Network, has successfully completed management contract negotiations for a brand new Four Points By Sheraton Hotel to open in Russia in 2016. The hotel, scheduled to open in 2016, Four Points by Sheraton Moscow Vnukovo Airport will be situated near Vnukovo International Airport’s new Terminal.

The agreement, between Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE:HOT) and Sport-Complex Vnukovo CJSC to open a new-build Four Points by Sheraton Moscow Vnukovo Airport hotel in the Russian capital. Scheduled to open in 2016, the hotel will be close to the new terminal at Moscow’s Vnukovo International Airport, Russia’s third largest airport and the closest to the city centre. This deal is part of Starwood’s strategic expansion plans in Russia, which include the opening of seven new hotels in the country in the next three years under the company’s Sheraton, Four Points by Sheraton and Aloft brands.

The challenges are fascinating, not least because China has been the International driver for hotel development for many years and features so heavily in the growth plans for all the large international operators. This doesn’t mean that China is immune to the potential pitfalls present in more mature hotel economies and is significant, especially as the wider Chinese economy comes under pressure from inflation and a rapidly growing middle class.

The seven challenges explored in the report are as follows:

• Higher wages, fewer staff in the industry
• Revenue streams outside bedrooms
• China specific domestic travel challenges
